Fire Protocol

For any emergency or threat to the school, CSA administration will utilize the Standard Response Protocol to respond to the situation and ensure the safety of students & staff, especially for situations involving fire.  Additionally, CSA practices fire evacuation drills every month.

EVACUATION MAPS

Evacuation maps are posted near the exit doorway at a height and location where the students can easily see it in every room on campus. The map shows the paths students take to get out of the building from that room.

ANNUAL FIRE INSPECTION

Koetter Fire Protection of Austin, LLC, conducts an annual fire inspection to maintain the highest safety protocols of the school, checking various hazards including correct placement of combustible material (i.e. wood, paper, rubber, Styrofoam, foam, rubber, cardboard and plastic boxes or anything easily burned), correct storage of combustible materials (e.g. combustibles cannot be stored in electrical rooms, air handling rooms or mechanical rooms), no obstacles blocking exit doors or hallways, correct use of extension cords and multi-plug adapters & portable electric space heaters, correct placement of artwork and teaching materials displayed in corridors and correct use & placement of decorations.

ANNUAL FIRE EXTINGUISHER UPDATE

Koetter Fire Protection of Austin, LLC, also conducts an annual fire extinguisher update on all fire extinguishers maintained on campus.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOCATION MAP

CSA Administration maintains a location map, shared with staff, that displays the locations of all fire extinguishers (mounted & free-standing). Staff members are trained on knowing the closest location of a fire extinguisher to his/her classroom.
