WHO WE ARE
Chaparral Star Academy is an open-enrollment public charter school in Austin, Texas serving students in grades K-12. CSA offers a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum in a compacted 4-hour daily schedule. Students attend either the morning session (7:45 am-11:50 am) or the afternoon session (12:05 pm-4:10 pm), allowing more flexibility for extracurricular activities such as gymnastics, horseback riding, acting, hockey, figure skating or any passion the child may have. Class sizes are limited as we strive to enable young minds to pursue their passion in a community of excellence.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
CSA has a small, tight-knit team of passionate educators that frequently work together to support and maintain high staff morale. With a teaching staff of around 30, our collaborative environment is unparalleled. Our teachers are given the autonomy and academic freedom to teach in a manner that allows them to develop challenging classroom environments that promote higher level learning. This instructional freedom enhances the already-relaxed environment of the school, with most of our staff having been here for over 10 years. And our dog-friendly campus only adds to our charm.
