When
9/18/2020

For high school students who participate in off-campus fine arts programs (dance, theatre, art or music), it is possible that the activity can substitute for fine artsgraduation requirements.

Studentscan utilize CBFAP if the program represents a fine artscourse not offered by CSA, is not an individualized endeavor (e.g. privatelessons) and meets or exceeds the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for arespective high school course.  The CBFAP programmay only satisfy the one-credit fine arts graduation requirement (i.e. can onlycount once and not as an elective).

In order for participation in anoff-campus Community-Based Fine Arts Program (CBFAP) tosubstitute as a high school fine arts credit, the activity must be approved byChaparral Star Academy and the Texas Education Agency.  A list of thoseagencies can be found on the Community-BasedFine Arts Program (CBFAP) section of our website.

Studentswishing to add an agency to the list for the 2020-21 school year must contactMr. Barnett (via e-mail) by September 18, 2020.

Students wishing to utilize CBFAP during this semester for high school graduation creditmust submit the completed Community-BasedFine Arts Substitution Application (found at the website above) by September 18, 2020.  Regardless whether the agency will beapproved or not (to be determined after the due date for the application), anapplication must still be submitted by the due date for any new agencies addedto the list.
